Trailer #1 – 60fps. “West View Park – Time Frames”
This is a (very) quick promo for the West View Park project. I wanted to take a moment to address some of the comments coming from one particular group online.
- This is a private project that started with me deciding I wanted to restore footage for myself and my daughter, who has never been to where I grew up or experienced West View Park.
- I’m more than happy to make this available for the hefty fee of … absolutely nothing. I’m not looking to “turn a buck”. I’m looking to preserve a piece of the history of my home town. No catches. No angles. These are other people’s memories. I’m not gonna sell ’em back to folks. That’s just wrong. Damn, y’all are skeptical! <lol>
- There has been no generative AI instances in this trailer or the screen shots I have posted in my groups. Some screen shots have been colorized or cleaned up via old-style PhotoShop. NOT generative AI.
- If I use any shots that were altered via Generative AI… I will clearly and plainly tell people. I believe in honesty. I’m not a politician. I’m not running for anything.
- The question I get most often is “when will it be done”. The short answer is: “When it’s done”. I don’t mean that in a rude way. I just have a “Real Life” thing goin’ on here. You know… wife, home, family, 2 cats that are very demanding… that sorta thing. My editing and processing time for the project is mostly limited to weekends and the odd spare moment during the week.
- While the project is my own and 100% free… I will release it for download once it’s complete. I will not upload it to YouTube or other streaming media websites and I ask that you do not do it either. Why? Because they compress and crunch the hell out of my work when they “reprocess” it. Feel free to download it here and enjoy it.
- If you want it done faster… please feel free to donate to the project. It takes roughly a month to produce 10 minutes of video due to the costs of servers that can handle the power consumption and processing for cleanup and upscaling. Alternatively, I use my own systems here and do it myself… but it takes 12 hours to process 3 minutes of video; thus, I rent multiple machines in the cloud that can handle the load much quicker than a single localized system. Give if you want. Don’t give if you can’t. It doesn’t matter… once it’s done, it’s yours if you want it. It’ll take longer to complete, funding it on my own. I’m okay with that. But if you like my work or want it quicker… hit the “Donate” button because it helps speed things along.
- “Where can i buy the DVD?” – I would love to do that for you… but then we’re getting into packaging, design and distribution. That takes work. My personal motto is “avoid real work at all costs”. Feel free to burn it to disc, though. Or pass it around.
